Art Therapy at Erdenesiin Khuree: Finding Freedom Through Calligraphy

Erdenesiin Khuree believes in the transformative power of art. The Art Therapy program, initiated in 2021, utilizes calligraphy as a therapeutic tool for individuals with disabilities and children from local orphanages. Through dedicated training sessions, participants explore the physical and psychological benefits of this ancient art form, fostering self-expression and healing.

Art empowers individuals to express themselves, find healing, and discover freedom through the beauty of calligraphy.

The program, funded by the Allier Department of France and supported by the APAU Foundation, provides calligraphy training led by Tamir Samandbadraa, co-founder of Erdenesiin Khuree, and his talented student, Gandul Chuluunkhuu. These sessions, taking place in the spring and fall over three consecutive years, offer a unique opportunity for participants to engage with Mongolian calligraphy, connect with their inner selves, and discover their creative potential. The culmination of the first session was marked by the "Freedom" exhibition, showcasing the incredible work of the participants and highlighting the program's positive impact.

We are grateful for the support of the local government, educational and cultural institutions, and non-governmental organizations, and seek continued support to expand this vital program.
